Our Mission

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, many young learners have lost access to resources instrumental to their academic growth. ClassMates hopes to bridge these gaps through our online tutoring platform, which provides free, personalized tutoring services to K-12 students in Ohio. It’s important that no student feels left behind during our current unforeseen circumstances, and in this digital age, we believe that we can address educational disparities through distance learning.

Our volunteer tutors are dedicated to working one-on-one with their students in a way that best accommodates individual needs. Students and parents are encouraged to be open with their tutors about subjects they would like additional help in and those they wish to delve deeper into. Our tutors want to provide both breadth and depth in their students’ academic journey.

As our lives slowly return to normalcy, we will continue our mission of providing free tele-tutoring services, with hopes of nurturing meaningful, long-term tutor-student relationships. Our vision with ClassMates is to not only provide these students tutors but also reliable mentors and friends who can serve a supportive role in these children’s lives, both during these fragile times and in the future.
